![]() ![]() Water would be on top of container lids, produce was drenched and then frozen, items inside would be soaked. My problem was that water was running all over the place down from the top of the unit. Things on my ref where not exactly as descrbed in the book, but It was close and I was able to remedy the problem. I found the problem turned to the section in the book and then followed the instructions. It was a book for common problems and how to fix them. I cleared the ice from my drain line by following (sort of) the "you fix it" instructions that I requested from Whirlpool. Mind you, there was no contact when I posted the review earlier in the spring for the replacement fridge unit.I don't have sidekicks so I don't know how they are constructed. The e- mail address is below if you're interested in explaining your units' performance issues and refunding or offsetting the replacement costs. I'm sure that we're not the only "victims" who purchased these models and experienced the same problems. Why would you want photos added to see me throwing this unit off of the back of my truck into the garbage dump? While slightly amusing, it's disgusting. What is the environmental footprint and impact of these units with a life cycle of less than 4 years? I'm not sure how difficult it is to design and build these units and transition refrigeration concepts, however, I am sure that the necessary skillsets do not reside within the Whirlpool organization. Not including service calls and replacement parts. Nearly $4,000 into the dump and another $3,800 for replacements. ![]() These units are expensive and have proven to be totally unreliable. '19 after 7 or 8 repairs failed to resolve the daily operating problems that began a year after the original install date (Mar '15). To note, we also had to replace the matching fridge unit in Feb. We would have bought another brand, but we were unable to locate a unit with the same dimensions to fit the built- in space. Poorly Engineered and Manufactured Junk I threw the original freezer unit that was purchased new and installed in Mar '15 into the garbage dump last week after we had to buy a replacement unit. But it is clearly a cheap system underneath. The space inside is really large and it looks very nice. It is kind off lame to be stuck without a refrigerator since it is an essential part of the household and they are made so cheap. I am not the only one with the exact same issue. If I base my self on other comments left here. ![]() They will order it and then we will have to wait even more! I just simply can’t believe that a refrigerator that cost 1400$ two years ago will break so easily. What happens if they don’t have the part required at that point. They lifted the bottom panel, check if it was cold or not and finally placed everything back in place to schedule a second service call for some other guy to come and check it again. The company taking care of fixing the refrigerator sent two guys. So now we have lost over 800$ of groceries and had to purchase a smaller refrigerator for 250$ for the time being. Sadly, the extended warranty only covers for the freezer part which this model lack. We have an extended warranty which will cover the repairs for the refrigerator. Out of nowhere it won’t refrigerate anymore. I really loved this refrigerator for the last two years. Failed within 2 years I am not sur why the comment was removed but here again. ![]()
